Before you start: Website Research
Before writing articles for the following website write and publish few articles on your own blog. If you don’t have a blog, You can start a free blog at WordPress.com or Blogger.com.
You need to show them that you are an expert and you can write great articles. You need to share samples of your writings.
We do accept guest posts here at JustLearnWP.com but we don’t pay writers for guest posts. If you are just starting and want to share your expertise with others feel free to write for us. We accept articles about WordPress, Plugins, Themes, and blogging.
Visit a website and see what type o articles they publish. For example, SitePoint publishes articles and tutorials about web design, development, programming, and marketing. It means You can write articles about any of these topics.
Note: Before pitching your article, don’t forget to read their writing guidelines for all the details.
Step 1. Website Research
You can find a list of the website below, You need to do some research on them.
Which topics get:
• The most views
• Most shares
• Most comments
Does their audience seem to be congruent with your own?
What’s the tone/voice/style of their posts? Can you match it, or come close?
Step 2: Brainstorm Your Killer Idea
Based on the research above, think of a few angles that tie in your expertise with the stuff that their existing audience is responding well to. It’s a good idea to come up with a list of 3-5 potential topics (and headlines).
Step 3: Pitch the Website
Make sure to review their submission guidelines (if any).
Grab their attention with strong proposed headlines. Share few articles ideas and link to your previously written articles. Share some post ideas.
An example Pitch
I know you receive a lot of emails. My message is short and simple. I’d like to contribute to [Website Name]. I am an experienced blogger, I have been featured on [blog 1], [Blog 2], [BLog 3] and many other blogs.
I’d like to write about WordPress, Theme Development, and blogging and it occurred to me that it would be a great fit for your audience. There aren’t many articles about WordPress theme development at [Website Name].
The headlines could be

- 15 Proven Tactics to plan and launch a blog successfully?
